So much exciting news to announce that I won’t be able to fit it into one blog post. First of all, I am thrilled to announce that I joined an amazing startup called Savitude as Chief Community Officer. I not only get the opportunity to work with an inspirational team, but also on the topics near and dear to my heart including women’s communities, career, and fashion. There is so much more to Savitude that I want to cover, but first, I wanted to see who will be at Watermark Conference For Women tomorrow (April 21). We are announcing at the conference: PLEASE STOP BY OUR BOOTH 441! Or you can follow the social streams on Twitter via the hashtag
#WatermarkConf and the ID @wtrmrk. I will be covering updates from our ID @SavitudeWomen as well as @TechMama. There will be so many fabulous speakers and discussions at Watermark, check out our Watermark 2016 Twitter List for updates from speakers and media covering the event.
UPDATE: The preview at Watermark consisted of a:
- Preview of the app and website,
- Preview of the clothing planned for the Savitude online store
- Photographs were taken that will be added to our Savitude Map of inspirational women by industry & city.
Here is the official press release. MORE TO COME!
Savitude Launching at the Watermark Conference on April 21
The new app and website aims to build a marketplace and community for working women
San Francisco, California – April 19, 2016 – Savitude, a new app and shopping website for the professional woman, will be officially announcing at the Watermark Conference for Women on April 21. Upon launch, the app will provide users with a tailored selection of clothing silhouettes and a personally curated shopping boutique based on body shape algorithms.
Focused on inclusion and diversity, Savitude aims to help women discover a personal style for their workwear. With an interactive style map, expanding store, and additional content and educational tools, Savitude is building a global community for women to share their viewpoints on dressing for work around the world.
“Dressing for work has become its own beast due to the current swing of fashion,” Says founder Camilla Olson. “The fashion industry considers the career market too pedestrian to design for, so women are left deciding between overly sexy styles and drab options. We’re stepping in to bridge that gap through curated shops and rich content that will grow and develop as people interact with the app.”
“It’s all about providing the tools, but letting members create their own work wardrobes in their own vision,” continues co-founder Beth Blecherman. “Essentially, Savitude is a collaboration between us and our members.”
Savitude will be providing previews of the app and website at the upcoming Watermark Conference, in addition to showing samples of clothing that could be included in the store. As the start-up builds their community of professional women around the world, a more robust machine learning system will be implemented, adding factors like geography, career aspiration, and social data to provide even more tailored and personalized selections in each user’s curated boutique.
Savitude, a female founded tech company focused on inclusion/diversity, is creating a personalized marketplace to dress working women who are increasingly pressed for time, want expert guidance in a confusing workplace, and who may have limited retail access to work clothes. Savitude presents different viewpoints on how women dress for work with specific guidelines based on body shape to get better fitting clothes. Members create work wardrobes in their own vision. Savitude is also creating a community with rich content, educational tools, and support for working women around the globe.
