"A key part of the service will be recording milestones like the first
crawl, steps, solid food, word said, etc. with text, video and photos."
The profiles will be private, but parents can share them with family/friends. I am not sure that I would want to initiate a online social network based on my infant, but this is a creative use of social networking. And the concept does mirror reality, the live social network of parents I know is mostly initiated through connections formed from my kids/kids schools.
Would you use this type of a service? Do you use online social networking sites already? If so, which one?
I use Facebook to set up my own online social network, and luckily that network has no connection to my kids (although I am thrilled to have some preschool moms as Facebook friends). My other online network is made up of mom bloggers (a sassy bunch!) and tech bloggers. My kids are online, but they have not joined the online social networking craze (as of yet). My eldest is only 9, so I imagine he will be joining an online social network in the near future…
